PROJECTS

Below are examples of several projects which we’ve detailed since our beginnings in 2020. In that time, we’ve detailed over 100 projects across a wide range of sizes and styles, with a mix of steelwork, precast and both steelwork & precast on the same project.

MORIALTA SECONDARY COLLEGE – ZONE C

We were engaged to detail the steelwork and precast for Morialta during the consultant’s 40-50% design development stage. We detailed the project in conjunction with the architect, engineer and builder – providing an expedited detailing programme, along with solutions to problems which occurred during the design of the structure. The experience gained from working directly with the builder and the consultants on this project has provided us with a new perspective while detailing future projects.

ESR WAREHOUSE & OFFICE

ESR represents one of the core project types for our company, with both the steelwork and precast being detailed in the same project. These projects are often made from pre or custom engineered beams (PEB/CEB). This project also included a set of steel stairs and handrails, along with a precast vault.

SMITHS SNACK FOODS – RAW MATERIALS & POTATO BUILDING

Both areas of this structural steelwork project tied into existing structures on site. We used a comprehensive 3D scan & point cloud, along with investigations on site in order to accurately detail in the new steelwork, which tied in successfully and correctly when installed. We continue to provide detailing services for this project as the site is constantly developing.

VITERRA GRAIN STORAGE FACILITY

Viterra was our first steelwork/precast project, which led us to incorporating precast detailing into our regular services. The structure consisted of 21m high, 67m wide clear span PEB portal frames over a 140m long building. Outside of the steelwork and precast detailing, we provided coordination & detailing services for the footings, raft slabs, specialised flashings and coordination with the plant for the grain transfer to the loading bay.

BLACKWOOD COMMUNITY HUB

Blackwood is a good example of a classic commercial steelwork project. It involved curved, deep fascia beams, window shrouds, exposed facade framing and circular skylight shrouds. In addition to the steelwork detailing services on this project, we assisted in determining crane setup locations by running simulated lifts in our model to check for crane reach and jib restrictions on the structure.

CLARKE ENERGY OFFICE & WAREHOUSE – ADELAIDE

Clarke Energy was a precast detailing project which contained a mix of high-rise style basement and ground floor panels and simple warehouse panels. The ground floor structure over the basement was constructed using in-situ concrete beams, which we were able to accurately model in to ensure alignment with the precast panels. We also provided bar schedules and a layout to the builder for their concrete contractor to easily be able to locate and install starter bars to the precast on site.

ST. DOMINIC’S PRIORY SCHOOL – NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL PROJECT

The first thing that will stand out on St. Dominic’s, a precast detailing project for our company, are the curved panels making up the front of the building. These panels consisted of several different radii around the wall and accuracy of the modelling and detailing was critical. The panels were made from coloured concrete and were sandblasted for an architect with a very keen eye, which requires that the panels are detailed without error, as rework is nearly impossible to blend in.

FREELING SUPERMARKET

Another steelwork/precast project which we detailed for one of our regular clients – this one holds a special place for us as it’s on our doorstep in Freeling! The precast installation on this project needed special consideration due to existing surrounding properties and the existing transformer on site. We worked closely with the builder, engineer and precast contractor to ensure this was well coordinated.
